The Blogging Craze Continues...

Posted on January 12, 2020 at 4:48 PM Comments comments (2212)
Long time since my last post, as I've been busy writing blogs for other companies! This is one craze that seems to be here to stay. There are so many purposes served by a single blog post. It can get your ideas out to a wide audience quickly. It can promote your products and services. It can announce upcoming events. And above all, it can set you up as a thought leader in your field of expertise. All good stuff!!! Whether it be a personal blog or business related, the start of 2020 is a good time to get on the bandwagon and begin a new blog adventure. Let me know how I can help, by contacting [email protected]

The thing about blogs...

Posted on April 26, 2018 at 4:26 PM Comments comments (155)
It was said earlier this year that 2018 would be the Year of the Blog! Well, I can say from my busy blog writing schedule over these past several months that it's true, indeed. Everyone wants to communicate via the web, whether to demonstrate a skill, announce a new product/service, or inform others about an interesting topic. Blogs are the newest vehicle in town and seem to be here to stay. Not only do they increase your website traffic via key words and new content, they also serve as a less formal way to tell others about yourself or your company or whatever. As opposed to the more static information typically residing on fixed websites, blogs offer a chance to share fresh content relevant to the time of posting. Tax season is a perfect time, for example, to post tips about the latest IRS rules to be aware of. It's an ideal way to highlight your knowledge in a specific arena and promote yourself as a thought leader. Plus, a blog article does not entail the same time commitment or resources to produce a white paper. So, why not try it the next time you have something to say?

As 2013 begins, I have a new 'hot' area of expertise I'd like to introduce...resume writing. Lately, people have been flocking to me for this type of writing, whether they want to dust off their current resume or launch a brand new career. I am struck by how much I enjoy helping people on their path to the next best opportunity. It's an exciting  process of discovery to identify what is unique about your skills, in order to beat the competition. This is marketing writing at its finest, and YOU are the product! Let's collaborate!!! It's best to contact me directly at 832-868-6100 (mobile+text).

Happy New Year!

Another set of eyes

Posted on October 9, 2011 at 1:19 PM Comments comments (24)
Even professional writers need another set of eyes. Ironically, my previous post had a fatal error ("business" was spelled wrong). Due to my confidence as an editor as well as a writer, I skipped the important spell check step. And, I did not ask anyone to look it over for me. A cardinal sin? Maybe not that serious, but embarrassing for sure! Now, here's the kicker...it took an old friend from high school with whom I've recently connected on the Internet to tell me about my faux pas. I ask you, what are the chances?!!!

Bottom line, EVERYTHING counts when it comes to your image...from e-mails, to blogs, to website content, to printed brochures. You never know when a typo will be discovered and by whom. Luckily, in my case, it was a friend. I honestly share this with you (at the risk of harming myself) to prevent YOUR image from being tarnished.

Oh yeah, you can relax, I just ran a spell check and re-read the above one more time:-)

Be Considered a Thought Leader

Posted on September 30, 2011 at 10:12 PM Comments comments (28)
A great way to be considered a thought leader in your field is to write a white paper. Choose a topic related to an area of expertise and document your knowledge in an objective manner. Then, post the paper on your web site, hand it out at trade shows or conferences, and see what happens to your credibility. My guess is it will soar and so will your business. Of course, it helps to have the white paper professionally written, at the very least edited prior to publishing.

Contact me to talk about it 832-868-6100.
